Subscriber Count Settings Explained
How Your Count is Calculated
Each dashboard has its own subscriber count, which is what your goals are measured against. It starts with the number of subscribers Twitch reports for your channel (the "raw" count), then adjusts it based on the settings on your dashboard's edit page:
The result is never lower than zero before bonus subs and resubs are added. You can see a breakdown of how your current count was calculated at the top of the Goals section on the dashboard's edit page.
The Settings
Baseline Subscriber Count
The number that counting starts from. This is subtracted from your raw count. Use it when you don't want your existing subscribers to count towards your goals.
Example: You have 150 subscribers when you start a subathon. Set the baseline to 150, and your dashboard will show 0. When Twitch reports 175, your dashboard shows 25.
Bonus Subscribers
A number of subs added on top of what Twitch reports. Useful if bits or donations can count towards your goal, or if you need to make a manual correction.
Disable Bleed
"Bleed" is when your count drops because subscriptions expire or cancel. With Disable Bleed turned on, this dashboard's count will only ever go up. If you lose subscribers, the count holds at its highest value until new subscribers push it higher.
- When you first turn it on, it starts from your current subscriber count.
- After that, it grows with every new sub and gifted sub.
- To correct the stored value manually, click the "Bleed-protected peak" number in the Goals section of the edit page, enter a new number, and click "Update Count". This is helpful if you turned this on for a dashboard that already had progress.
Count Resubscriptions
Normally, a resub doesn't change your subscriber total because the person is already subscribed. When this is turned on, each resubscription adds 1 to this dashboard's count. This is common for subathons where every renewal should count towards the goal.
- Twitch reports resubs when the subscriber shares their resub message in chat, so resubs that aren't shared in chat may not be counted.
- Resubs are only counted from the moment this setting is turned on.
- Turning this setting off resets the accumulated resub count to 0.
Lock Subscriber Count
Freezes the dashboard's subscriber count at its present value. New subs, gifted subs, and resubs will not change it. This is useful when a subathon or campaign is over and you want the final total to stay put.
- A "Count Locked" badge appears on the dashboard in your dashboards list.
- The baseline and bonus subscribers still apply to a locked count, so changing them will still change the number shown.
- Turn the setting off to resume counting.
How Live Updates Work
- New subs, gifted subs, and resubs are pushed to subgoal.gg by Twitch as they happen, so your overlay can update within moments.
- When someone views your dashboard, subgoal.gg also checks Twitch for your current subscriber count if the last check was more than a minute ago.
- Goals are marked as achieved automatically when your dashboard count reaches their target. See Managing Goals.
